Open files and choose tools

Open local content

Choose an app in Hub to open a file, or choose Open Folder, or drag a file into the app. After opening a folder, select a file to inspect it. Check the format directory for format information.

Choose a tool

Where a tool selection menu is available, click the file to open the menu, select the tool, and choose Open. Tools support different tasks such as viewing, editing, conversion, or AI chat.

Pay attention to unsaved-change prompts before switching tools. Editing and export support depend on the selected tool: being able to open a file does not imply support for every operation.

If opening fails

Make sure the file has fully downloaded and its extension matches its actual contents. Renaming an extension does not convert a file.

If a small file of the same type opens but this one fails, record its size, format, and error message, then consult Troubleshooting.
