Your first five minutes

Prepare a practice file

Choose a Markdown or text file you can safely edit. Make a copy first if it is important. You do not need to sign in or configure AI to try local file editing.

Open and edit

1. Start OpenFiles, open Hub in the top bar (⌘Shift+H / Ctrl+Shift+H), choose Markdown Editor, and select your practice file.
2. Check the file name and active tool. Images and PDFs generally open in viewers; Markdown and text files can open in editors.
3. Try changing a heading or adding a line in Markdown. Switch to preview to inspect the result.
4. Choose Save from the File menu, or press ⌘S on macOS / Ctrl+S on Windows.

Check your result

Reopen the saved file and check that the change remains. To keep the original or choose another location, use Save As.

For another tab, open Hub. To see two files at once, use Split View.
